For the wounded love, be the great Love and the great Healer. Make hearts whole again. Bleed your forgiveness and grace into their hearts. Show them love that no one else can.
For the one fighting urges and compulsions that control their life, give freedom and ease their mind. Give them peace and also strength to fight things that only harm them.
For those in the darkness fighting muddy demons, give strength to chase the light. Stand beside them and fight their fears. Wrap them in clarity and hope. Sweet hope.
For those who look in the mirror and see a monster staring back, speak truth over those lies and show them the picture that you see of them.
For the mind that will not stop, that is hounded with anxious thoughts and fears. Be the steady Truth to their relentless agitations. Calm the mind and heart.
For those in pain, disassociating, numb, and seeking relief, make them present and aware of small joys. Give them realness and the gift of seeing good.
For those whose traumatic past rears its ugly head and tries to control and poison the present or even future, be there. Be there in truth and healing and forward-facing hope.
For all who feel less than – all who have been told and showed in a million ways that we are not enough, show us our worth. You have made us enough, so show us how to live in that truth. Give us rest, give us confidence in who you’ve called us to be. Make us new and whole and life-participating.
God, you’re not confused by us or thrown off by our emotions or mental state. You are who you’ve always been. Your grace is not Hallmark card, best-dressed Sunday; it’s gritty and deep and raw and there in our darkness. It’s a splintered, blood-stained cross. It’s unwavering and unchanging in the face of our doubts and spewed anger and shaking and grief.
